Holly is the Clinical Director at Brooklyn Parent Support, and she sees clients for medication and therapy. In addition, she co-facilitates the monthly Perinatal Medication Management Group and directs the education and training of our Student Nurse Practitioners.
Holly worked as a full scope midwife at Bellevue Hospital in New York City for 20 years prior to returning to school to become a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
As a parent and a midwife, Holly offers a deep understanding of the realities of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. In her professional roles she practices patient centered care: care respectful and responsive to individual values, needs, strengths, beliefs and circumstances. She is warm, nonjudgmental, strengths-focused and supportive, with a grounding in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is passionate about working with clients to build a perinatal mental health plan that centers joy and connection while being grounded in evidence and real world experience.
In addition to clinical work, Holly has developed curricula and presented to professional and community groups on perinatal mental health issues. She co-authored a chapter of the third edition of the textbook Prenatal and Postnatal Care: A Person-Centered Approach. She is available to present on Psychopharmacology in Pregnancy and Lactation and related topics.
Holly is happy to offer Written Exposure Therapy for Perinatal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
