REBECCA FELDMAN, CNM, PMHNP
I am the founder and director of Brooklyn Parent Support. I am a midwife and psychiatric nurse practitioner, and I specialize in medication management for pregnancy and lactation.
I attended nursing school at NYU, then received a Master’s in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University, and a Post Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing from NYU. I have also completed post graduate training in psychotherapy at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training in New York City, and the Internal Family Systems Institute. I have a broad range of nursing experience including both labor and delivery and palliative care, and nine years of experience as a midwife. In the course of that experience I decided to focus on perinatal mental health, an area where I saw a major lack of services.
In New York City, I serve on the Department of Health's maternal mortality review committee as well as the Brooklyn Borough President's mental health committee. Recent speaking engagements include Postpartum Support International, American College of Nurse-Midwives, Gold Midwifery, and the National Perinatal Association.
My goal is to reduce mental health stigma and promote access to care for all parents. My areas of further specialization include perinatal loss and bereavement, autism and parenting, and parents of children with disabilities.
I am in network with United, Oxford, Oscar, Aetna, & Cigna.
